The Route

The opening anchor of the route — Gaudí's basilica has been under construction since 1882 and remains one of the most recognisable buildings on Earth.

Barcelona's most elegant boulevard and the spine of the Modernista movement — a walkable corridor of 19th-century ambition lined with extraordinary architecture.

One of Gaudí's most expressive façades — coloured mosaic tiles, curved balconies and a rooftop that resembles the back of a dragon. Hard to walk past without stopping.

Built between 1906 and 1912, La Pedrera is Gaudí at his most sculptural — a stone façade that flows like water and a rooftop terrace unlike anything else in the city.

The central square that connects the modern Eixample grid to the old city. All of Barcelona's key arteries begin or end here — the natural midpoint of the route.

Barcelona's most famous promenade — a kilometre-long tree-lined walkway connecting the city centre to the seafront. Walk it for the atmosphere, not the souvenirs.

The route ends in Barcelona's medieval quarter — a maze of narrow stone lanes, Roman foundations and Gothic architecture. A strong contrast to the modernist boulevard you started on.
Park Güell offers one of Barcelona's most iconic Gaudí viewpoints, with panoramic views over the city and the sea. It is not part of the 60–90 min core route — best reached by metro, taxi or a longer uphill walk from the Gothic Quarter.
